Welcome back to the MC eportfolio support blog. I just sent an email with a few wrapping up the semester details. I will be writing up an end of the year report in early June, which I will publish here and submit to Dr. Rai's office. Your feedback and student feedback are really important to that final report. Feel free to comment here or in response to the email.
Looking forward there are three key things we are looking at: Engaging more people in the pilot, getting feedback on the pilot, and considering templates.
Engaging More People
We will be looking for feedback from students about their experience. See a preview of the survey to be sent to students here: Spring 2016 Student Survey Preview
If you need a link for the student survey for Spring 2016, please email me at [email protected]
Templates
We are working on some template options that might help us provide better technical support for students. Please take a look at the templates and provide some feedback. (Note: the Wordpress templates include a resume portion, that we are intending to remove.)
Word Press- Sample Site 1-
This site is less customizable than the other, but students can add content and switch out pictures. I think they can add pages as well.
Word Press- Sample Site 2-
This site is more customizable than the first.
Weebly Sample Site
We will also have a test session with these sites, maybe several. If you would be interested in participating in the test, please let me know. We will likely do one in May or early June and one later in the summer.
Thanks for your participation this semester. I hope it was a worthwhile project!
Looking forward there are three key things we are looking at: Engaging more people in the pilot, getting feedback on the pilot, and considering templates.
Engaging More People
- How do we get more people interested?
- What workshops or other types of activities might convince colleagues to give eportfolios a try?
- How do we develop stronger communities of practice where we support each other and learn from each other's expertise?
- Would you be willing to write a blog post or some other short article about your experience using eportfolios?
